International Day of Cooperatives

ICA is the world's oldest and largest independent non-governmental social and economic organisation that unites, represents and serves cooperatives worldwide. ICA member organisations are national and international co-operative organisations from all over the world, including: agricultural, banking, marketing, credit, energy, industrial, insurance, fishing, housing, tourism and consumer co-operatives.

Setting the Purpose

People may be unfamiliar with co-operative festivals, but co-operation in life and work is everywhere. In nature there are geese flying together and ants living together. As human beings, it is even more important to co-operate with each other in order to survive. People will be wisdom, hands, strength combined together to develop and create miracles, almost omnipotent. This is something that cannot be done by one person alone.

Co-operation is joyful and efficient, a beautiful expression of unity. Teamwork can save time and improve efficiency; it can also better take the strengths of all, make up for one's own shortcomings, better and faster to reach the other side of the shore of success. Mutual co-operation will enable human beings to better learn to be independent, enterprising, with the spirit of unity and dedication, and can enhance the sense of responsibility of human beings.
