Analysis For Ineffective Oxygen Inhalation
Some patients feel that "oxygen inhalation has no effect", so please read this analysis.
Ineffective oxygen uptake may have the following causes:
1) The oxygen inhalation time is too short,
2) The oxygen inhalation flow rate does not meet the condition requirements
3) The oxygen concentration of the oxygen generator is not up to the standard (generally, the oxygen generator has been used for more than two years)
4) The oxygen concentrator accessories are not cleaned and disinfected on time
*The patient chooses the configuration of the oxygen generator is too low
The specifications of health-care oxygen concentrators are generally 1-2 liters, and the price is relatively cheap, which
is very attractive to patients who are cash-strapped due to long-term medication. Such an oxygen concentrator can
play a role in daily health care for healthy people and the elderly without serious illnesses, but it is far from meeting
the oxygen therapy requirements for patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Some patients feel that "oxygen
inhalation has no effect", it is probably because your oxygen machine configuration level is not enough to achieve
the therapeutic effect.
*The patient's oxygen concentrator has not been replaced for many years
Some patients have used an oxygen concentrator for five or six years without cleaning it; some patients have not
inhaled oxygen for several years, and recently dug out the dusty old oxygen concentrator to regenerate oxygen,
but it feels that there is no effect...
If it is an oxygen concentrator that operates 24 hours a day, it is best to check it after two or three years of use. It is
likely that the oxygen concentration has dropped and needs to be replaced. If your oxygen concentrator has been
"in service" for five or six years and has not been tested, then it is possible that what you are breathing is not oxygen, but air...
*Did not follow the doctor's advice, did not adjust the oxygen inhalation flow rate and oxygen inhalation time
according to the patient's condition
Oxygen inhalation for health care can be inhaled at a low flow rate of 1-2L for 20-60 minutes, but for patients with
respiratory diseases including pulmonary hypertension, daily oxygen therapy generally requires a medical oxygen
generator of more than 3-5 liters. The oxygen inhalation time should also follow the time prescribed by the doctor,
otherwise the effect will be affected.
*Failure to clean, disinfect accessories and replace filters as required
Oxygen concentrator accessories need to be cleaned and disinfected regularly, which is good for both the oxygen
concentrator and the patient. If the oxygen suction tube and humidification cup are not cleaned and disinfected
for a long time, some pathogenic microorganisms will grow on their own. This is very likely for the elderly, weak,
bedridden and low immune users to be infected again, so it is necessary to do a good job of cleaning, disinfection,
filter replacement and other maintenance related to the oxygen concentrator
It is recommended that patients switch to a medical oxygen concentator that can meet their own needs, follow the
doctor's advice, and do a good job of standardized oxygen therapy.
The oxygen generator has been used for about 2-3 years, and the oxygen concentration at the oxygen outlet of
the oxygen generator must be tested, and 90%-96% is the standard range value. If the oxygen concentration is not
up to standard, repair or replacement is recommended.
During oxygen inhalation, closely observe whether the patient's hypoxic symptoms are improved, and detect whether
the SPO2 heart rate and blood oxygen are improved.
Once invalid oxygen inhalation occurs, find out the cause immediately, and take corresponding treatment measures
to restore effective oxygen supply.
